The Chestutwold Chase

Welcome back Chestnutwold runners!

We are excited to offer two races on the day of the Chestnutwold Chase (Sunday, May 21). The one-mile fun run will occur first at 8:30 and will be followed by the 5K at 9am. Registration will include a  t-shirt if you want one. Be sure to add t-shirt(s) and size(s) in your registration. Strollers, walkers, and friends and neighbors are welcome. Please spread the word!

Registration is still open. The cost for a single runner is $30 and a family is $90.

Bib and t-shirt pickup will occur behind Chestnutwold on Saturday between 12-2pm. Bibs and t-shirts will also be available starting at 7:30am the morning of the race.

***Please try to bring a full water bottle.*** Water bottles will be available but these will be limited as we want to generate less plastic waste.

Election Day Bake Sale: May 16th

The Chestnutwold PTO will again be hosting a Bake Sale at the school on Election Day, May 16th.  We are looking for volunteers to contribute some delicious baked goods and to help work the bake sale booth.  Please sign up below to bring a treat or pick a time slot to help out!

Election Day Clothing Drive: May 16th

Cleaning out your closets to make room for fall and winter clothes? Don’t get rid of those old clothes, just yet! We will be hosting our annual election day clothing drive and bake sale again this year.  Help our school raise funds by cleaning out your closets, attics, garages, and basements. Please place your gently used/unwanted items in tightly tied bags. Every bag counts. Donations will be accepted between 8-3pm on Election Day.  The more our collection weighs...the more we raise. Please email thechestnutwoldpto@gmail.com to volunteer to help load the truck.


Parents' Quizzo Social

Kick back, relax and have some Quizzo fun with the parents of Chestnutwold! Please join us on

April 28th, at the CREC  Multi Purpose Room

Doors Open at 7pm - Quizzo begins promptly at 7:30pm

The cost is $25 per person. The ticket includes 5-6 rounds of Quizzo and exciting prizes for the winning team! A bag of cheer raffle and 50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase – remember to bring cash! 

You can also reserve your table of 8-10 people for $200 -250. All table reservations must be made with one check or one Venmo transaction. You may register as an individual or couple (and we will assign you to a team) or as a full team of 8-10! (You must register as a full team, we are not taking partial team registrations).  BYOB - must be 21 to attend and BYO food, food trays, plates, cups, etc.

Variety Show Debuts Friday

Chestnutwold’s Got Talent!

This year's Virtual Variety Show will be debuting on Friday March 31st at 7 PM on the Chestnutwold PTO Youtube Channel!

If your TV, Roku, Amazon, iPad, Phone computer or anything has youtube, you will be able to watch the show! The video will be live at 7 PM, but it is not being broadcast live, so you can start watching (or re-watch) any time you'd like after 7 PM. So gather up your friends and family and enjoy the show!


If you want to test and make sure you can get to the video on your device of choice you can search youtube for Chestnutwold PTO and last year's show is up there. It's a great way to test and make sure you are all set. Happy Viewing! 


And don’t forget to stop by HoneyGrow’s Wynnewood Location on March 31st for dine-in or take-out!  The best part is, you don't have to make dinner and 20% of your bill will be donated back to the PTO!  There are several options to participate:

Volunteer Fair

PTO Volunteer Fair- January 18th (7:30pm-8:30pm)

We have some great events and clubs scheduled for the remainder of the year, but we need your help!  Please join us on the evening of January 18th at the Chestnutwold cafeteria for our volunteer fair to sign up for committees that may be of interest to you. We will also be looking for new board members as well!

MLK Day Acts of Service Event

Come out to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with an educational and service program in the Chestnutwold cafeteria. CW students will have the opportunity to learn about Claudette Colvin and the Children’s March - young people who worked with Dr. King to fight for Civil Rights. We’ll also be making cards to send to troops who are deployed overseas and dog toys to donate to animal shelters. There will be a storytime at 11:00. Students will have the chance to make a pledge on the Be a King board to show how they can keep Dr. King’s legacy alive. 

*If you can - bring old tshirts or sheets to make the dog toys with!

Book Fair

Everything to Know about the 2022 Scholastic Book Fair at Chestnutwold

The Scholastic Book Fair is back in person at Chestnutwold this year! Our fair will run from Monday, November 28, through Friday, December 3, in the Chestnutwold library.

Your child will tour the fair during their library time and has the opportunity to purchase books. There will also be two family nights on Tuesday, November 29, and Thursday, December 1, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. if you would like to shop with your children.

Note that you can send cash in an envelope marked with your child’s name and homeroom the week of the book fair.
