Book Fair
Everything to Know about the 2024 Scholastic Book Fair at Chestnutwold
Mark your calendars! This year the Scholastic Book Fair will run from Monday, December 2nd through Friday, December 6th.
Your child will tour the fair during their library time and will have the opportunity to purchase books. Kindergarten classes will also have the opportunity to shop during the school day. There will also be two family nights, Tuesday, December 3rd, and Thursday, December 5th, from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
HERE ARE WAYS YOU CAN GET READY FOR THE FAIR AND SUPPORT LITERACY AND STEAM AT CHESTNUTWOLD:
Sign up to volunteer during your child’s classroom visit, set up/breakdown of the fair, and family night: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F054AA5AE22A1FA7-52730074-2024#/
Create an eWallet if you would like your child to go cashless when shopping using Scholastic’s eWallets (Note - Cash will also be accepted. See additional payment details below.): https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/chestnutwoldelementaryschool
Contribute to a teacher’s eWallet to help them build their classroom library: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HyPpngb5RjH2Pmj5RZJalduy45tAswQgeFyC1P9oMtA/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Contribute to the Book Fairy fund to help purchase SEL books and other general book needs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HyPpngb5RjH2Pmj5RZJalduy45tAswQgeFyC1P9oMtA/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Bring your own reusable bag to help reduce litter. To limit our use of plastic bags, we are continuing to ask everyone to “BYOBag" to the book fair. Don’t worry, we will have extras on hand if you need a bag.
Can’t make it to Family night? You can also purchase books online during the book fair at our Scholastic Book Fair webpage. https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/chestnutwoldelementaryschool
HOW TO PAY AT THE BOOK FAIR
Cash is always accepted at the Book Fair: Please send cash in an envelope marked with your child’s name and homeroom the week of the book fair.
eWallets: If you would like your child to go cashless to the book fair, eWallets are available. Please note that funds placed on eWallets are not refunded if they are not used at the fair, but they can be used for future purchases through your scholastic account.
After the Book Fair, unused eWallet funds will convert to an eGift card balance. Families can use eGift cards to shop online in The Scholastic Store, fund an eWallet for a future fair, or contribute to the Book Fairy fund.
If you had an eWallet last year, check if you still have funds from last year. If you would like, you can apply them to your new eWallet account for this year.
This year, student eWallet balances less than $1.50 may be used to help other students who may be a little short on change for their purchase. If you wish to opt out of this, please email tracydoney@gmail.com before Monday December 2, 2024.
For more information on eWallets, visit https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/ewallet.html
Credit cards are also an option, but only for adults at parent night or during volunteer time.
